Hellier Langston is a firm of chartered surveyors and commercial property professionals with offices in Fareham and Southampton. Led by Andy Hellier, Matt Poplett and Jason Webb, the firm is recognised as one of the Solent region's top commercial property practices.

We sat down with Andy Hellier to discuss how Surga Central has helped Hellier Langston capitalise on their core strengths.

What were your objectives in looking for new technology?

Hellier Langston invested in new technology to improve the overall customer experience as well as the service we provide to customers. Surga Central gave us a cloud-based solution specifically for commercial property, enabling users to market, sell and lease property in one place.

A couple of years ago, the team at Surga approached Hellier Langston, who were impressed with what they were shown at the time, but not yet ready to change systems. When we decided the time was right to upgrade to a new property CRM system, we thought of Surga and got in touch.

Briefly explain the on-boarding experience.

The Surga team listened to Hellier Langston’s requirements and worked with us to adapt parts of the system to suit our needs. The tailored system was then implemented in the autumn.

The switch-over was professionally handled and involved a tailored migration of all our property and contact data over from our former system into the new one.

Once implemented and operational, Adept provided comprehensive, hands-on training to the staff at Hellier Langston to ensure that everyone was informed and confident using it. Ongoing education and consultation services are also offered to expand skills, improve CRM strategies or train new staff.


Since go-live, what are the key areas of the product the team is using?

Hellier Langston are now utilising Surga for many purposes including management of new requirements for properties, keeping track of all enquiries, arranging property viewings and recording the completion of all lettings and sales. It also allows all the information on the properties they are marketing, including the owners, to be stored in one place.

The system has improved overall team productivity and made it possible to make comparisons and see market trends, which has proven to be highly valuable to the entire firm.
